Five Things I Am Currently Obsessed With

Henna

Henna the flowering plant used to dye hair, skin etc.. is my new obsession. Keep in mind, I have never hennaed my hair and Idon’t know that I will be doing so in the near future (I am currently in protective style for the winter and I need to further research the effects of henna on low porosity hair) but in theory I am all about henna. I got a box of Reshma Femme in dark chocolate henna in my (insert month here) curlBOX and I have been staring at it longingly as it sits on my shelf.

Solange’s Knowles new album ‘True’

Fashionista, and natural hair icon Solange is back with a new album and I really love it. The album is a reflective of Ms. Knowles evolution. The new album is daring, eclectic and downright funky just like Solange herself. The tracks ‘”Losing You” and “Lovers In the Parking Lot” are on steady repeat. Check out her album and thank me later. Oh and by the way it’s only $6.39 on Itunes.

Dark lipstick

Burgundy, Merlot, Maroon, Oxblood whatever you want to call it I am all about the dark vampy lip. Pair it with a light smoky eye (is that an oxymoron?) and glowing skin for a sexy look. My favorite shade is Mac Rebel paired with or without the matching lipglass by the same name however, last weekend I picked up Black Radiance’s Midnight Glow lipstick (shade 5033) after seeing Alicia Keys rock a gorgeous dark lip on Jimmy Fallon while singing the theme song to Gummi Bears. And ladies, don’t forget to exfoliate, moisturize and line those lips prior to applying!

Sequin Pants

I am in love with all things sequins but especially sequin pants. I saw a picture curlBOX founder and visionary Myleik with a gorgeous pair of Calypso St. Barth gold sequin pants and instantly fell in love with sequin pants. It’s a party on your pants, what more is there to say?

Gold glassware

Last but certainly not least gold glassware. Perfect for a party or stylish everyday use; seriously, who wouldn’t want to drink their red Kool-Aid from a fancy glass? Gold glassware is on my list of must haves. I have been obsessively perusing Etsy and Ebay in search of the perfect set of vintage gold glassware although I haven’t quite found what I am looking for I do fancy the fancy glasses above.

Currently Craving Cap Toe Shoes!

I really wanted to use a clever title for this blog post but when I thought of cap toe or the word cap in general all I could come up with was busn’ caps and Cap’n’ Crunch…Yeah so anyway, I am currently craving a pair or two of cap toe shoes (a girls gotta have options). Seriously, how cute are these shoes? You can even DIY yourself a pair! I covet those Christian Louboutins Unbout shoes with reckless abandon however, I am well aware that the Sam Edelman and Jeffrey Campbell shoes are more in my price range. *Le sigh* One more thing the Vince Camuto pair are only $49.99! Yes, honey fly and affordable!
