September curlBOX

13 Sep

The September curlBOX has arrived! This month’s box is dedicated to texture and finding products that work for your hair and may I say that this box came right on time since I am currently battling my own multi-textured hair; more on that in another post.

Full listing below. Please note that there were variations in boxes some subscribers received products from either Blended Beauty, Organic Root Stimulator, EDEN BodyWorks, Seneica Senk Shampoo Bar or Donna Marie Dream Curling Cream.

Final Thoughts:  I really like this box. I am not sure whether of these products will work with my multi-textured hair but overall I am happy with the  selection. I have always wanted to try Donna Marie products so I am super amped to have I gotten my hands on at least one of them. Ouidad and Design Essential are two product lines subscribers have received in prior boxes ( specifically the Ouidad Moisture Lock leave-in conditioner and Design Essentials Natural Daily Moisturizing Lotion) and so I am hoping combining the products I already have with the ones I received in the September box will result in some BOMB.COM HAIR!

What are your thoughts on the September curlBOX?

Don’t Believe the Hype? Believe it.

Final Thoughts: I received this product in the May curlBOX and I have to admit I rolled my eyes at the sight of it and thought, “Come Son!”  I’d tried this product back when I was relaxed and did not like it one bit my hair it left my hair feeling greasy and weighed down. In spite of this jar toting itself as, “New and Improved” I shelved it. Fast forward to July and I am rifling through my product shelf looking for a pudding or a butter to twist my hair with. I instantly see this product and although I am a bit weary I decide to give it a shot, reminding myself that  relaxed hair isn’t natural hair. I opened the jar and instantly noticed while the scent was familiar the consistency of the product seemed lighter. I used it over my trusty Curl Junkie’s Smoothing Assurance Lotion and lo and behold butter soft twists! I was shocked my hair felt moisturized but not greasy and the definition of my twist out was EVERYTHANG! I have continued to use this throughout the summer and for its price and efficiency, will definitely keep a jar or two on the shelf. Please note- while I have used this product for twists with great results I have never used it daily as a moisturizer or as a thermal protecting treatment perhaps when the winter comes I may explore its other uses.
